Beauty… 3 items you need in your life…

Beauty Needs

1. Chanel – Les Beiges, All-in-one healthy glow fluid – I had my makeup done at Chanel recently as she used this product on me. I have been in love ever since. I am not a foundation wearer and even struggle to wear tinted moisturiser. This formula is a mix between a tinted moisturiser and a BB cream. It has an SPF in it and it’s is just divine. It’s light coverage that really does smooth and light the skin. You can’t tell I’m wearing anything but I just look better.

2. Essie – Instant Dry Oil – I love having painted nails and with two kids I rarely find the time to paint them and wait for them to dry even with quick dry polish. At night I was always too tired and when they were sleeping I had other things to do and murphy’s law would state as soon as I sat down to do them or I had just finished they would wake. Not to mention that my mani’s never last that long. I wash my hands so often during the day and with the kids I am just really hard on my hands so it just never seemed worth it. Well…. enter Essie’s instant dry oil. It really does dry my nails in an instant so having to wait for your nails to dry is a thing of the past. I LOVE this product and now find myself with my nails polished all the time. YAY!

3. Chanel – Eau Douceur cleansing water – I am really quite lazy with my skincare routine. When this was introduced to me I instantly fell in love. You squirt it on to cotton makeup pads and wipe over your face. It removes all makeup and is gentle and cleansing on your skin. There is no need to additional cleansing. So no running water and a washer. I love it and find my skin has never been better because I am more consistent with my skincare.

So, anyone already use any of these? Any other awesome products I should know about?…

Aesop… it’s a deep love…

I am in love with Aesop products. It is a love bordering on obsession. It started 4 years ago on our Honeymoon. We were lucky enough to spend a few days at Qualia and their in room products are Aesop. I fell in love with the Rind concentrate body balm (5) I have used it ever since. I also used the Geranium Leaf body cleanser (2) when we travelled. I was using it recently when home at Mum and Dad’s and the scent of the Geranium leaf hit me like a brick… It immediately took me back to Qualia and the feelings of Sun, Freedom and relaxation washed over me. I immediately went out to buy the body wash and have been hooked ever since. Every time I use it I am transported back to that moment of relaxation and freedom. I also love how the scent lingers in the bathroom long after you’ve finished your shower and have moisturised. Because the Geranium leaf had such a strong sensory trigger for me I also started to use the body balm (3) and body scrub (1)…

Aesop Love...

I am always on the hunt for a great hand cream as I hate anything too greasy so when I tried the Resurrection aromatique hand balm (9) I was hooked. I use it every night before bed and have noticed the difference and the smell is amazing…

During winter your skin needs an extra moisture boost so I added the Geranium leaf hydrating body treatment (4) to the line up and either use it straight on slightly damp skin or mix it with the geranium body balm for an added hydration boost. It was also really great after a day in the sun when in Fiji recently…

When our ensuite was finally finished I added the Resurrection aromatique hand wash (8) which is one of Aesop’s best sellers. It’s really lovely, smells great and actually makes your hands feel soft…

With two little ones I love having rinse free hand wash on me and the Resurrection rinse free hand wash (6) is terrific for this. It smells great and doesn’t strip your hands of moisture like most others…

and… finally, the Rosehip seed lip cream (7) is great. It is a cream, not a balm so it’s like moisturiser for your lips. I use it every night before bed under paw paw ointment. I struggle with moisture levels on my lips so am always looking for a great lip balm. I love paw paw ointment and the lip cream adds that extra bit of moisture.

As you can see it’s a deep love…

Do you use Aesop? What’s your favourite product?

I highly recommend trying them if you haven’t already… Jx

The job of maintaining oneself…

Yesterday I had a haircut for the second time since H was born (he is now 20 months old)… I have very boring, straight, dark brown hair that luckily doesn’t need colouring so it is very low maintenance as hair goes…

Having said that I was mortified when I saw the look on my hairdressers face at the condition of my hair… which was nothing short of dismal. It was lank, lifeless, straggly, all one length and constantly tied up. He was polite about it and we had a joke but I was, in no uncertain terms, told my hair was terrible.

4 inches and many layers later I felt… and looked like a new woman! I felt so much lighter walking out of there and feel like I look the best I have in AGES!! (even Hubby agrees) Which is such a lovely feeling and not at all overrated… so good for the soul and self esteem.

I find hair, makeup, waxing and shaving all have a knock on effect. For me, I found the worst my hair got the more I dragged it up and back (so much easier when chasing after a toddler) which then looked awful so you think to yourself… what good will makeup do?… So you don’t put any on etc, etc. You can see my pattern. Needless to say I have been getting around looking like something the cat dragged in…

Well… I am here on in endeavouring to invest more time and energy in the job of maintaining myself. I have already booked my next haircut. I’m off to book my eyebrow appointment and will try and put a bit of a face on more than I have been.

So… if you are at all like me, I urge you to spend a little more time on yourself as I promise you’ll feel a million dollars afterwards. … and couldn’t we all do with a bit of that!?

P.S I know this is a relatively trivial issue in light of all the many things we face in our daily lives… but isn’t it nice to focus on the fun things sometimes?

Desert Twilight Eye Palette by Bobbi Brown…

Oh my goodness I love the colours in this eye palette. They are gorgeous…

I know I’m a little obsessed with Bobbi Borwn at the moment but I just had to share this.

It’s limited edition and I think this will sell really fast as the colours are pretty and neutral…

Desert Twilight Eye Palette.

What do you think? Would you wear all of these colours? Do you like the sparkle in them?

A slight obsession…

I was cleaning out one of my bags today and these were all in there……needless to say I think I have an obsession with all things lipstick, lipgloss and lip balm..

These are some of my favourites. They are all pink, soft and the glosses are very sheer.

I have been a fan of the Stila lip glaze for a long time. I have them in several colours but these are the two I use the most – Strawberry and Apricot. You can find them here.

My latest lip balm crush is Christian Dior’s Creme de Rose. Mentioned previously here. I love the creaminess of it and the beautiful rose smell.

The little Chanel is the divine Rouge Coco in Mademoiselle. It is a lovely pink and the lipstick has a nice light texture. Find it here.

The M.A.C is Lustre lipstick in Syrup. I was given this by a close girlfriend when I was Bridesmaid for her 4 years ago and I have been wearing it ever since. It is the perfect dusty pink that you can wear with everything. You can find it here.

As mentioned previously here I am a recent fan of the YSL Rouge Volupte Sheer Candy lipstick in succulent pomegranate #4. I love how sheer the colour is and the choice is yours to wear it sheer or build up the layers for a stronger effect. You can get the range here and here

The Bobbi Brown Lip Glosses are great. They are nice and thick but still sheer and not too sticky. They also don’t dry my lips out too much which is a huge plus as I have a big problem with many glosses and lipsticks for that reason. The ones I have and are pictured above are Popsicle and Marina Pink.

Do any of you have a borderline obsession with all things Lipstick, balm and gloss like I do? If not do you have any other make-up obsessions? I’d love to hear about them.

My latest beauty obsession

Source: Here

I am besotted with Christian Dior’s Creme de Rose lip balm. It smells beautiful. I love the scent of roses so it’s right up my alley. It really does soften and smooth your lips. Previously I have only had luck with Blistex and Paw Paw ointment so I am very excited to have found this one and added it to my collection.

The gorgeous packaging is a definite added bonus too.

I bought mine at David Jones but I have found some places on line here and here.

Enjoy!
